| spybot s and a bad checksum
I ve been using Spybot Search and Destroy for years. I downloaded the latest updates, but they wont install because of a bad checksum .
WTH is a bad checksum, and how do I go about getting a good one??
Uninstall and reinstall the whole program, possibly??
This has happened on both of our machines.
TIA..
Brad

Just a bad server...try a different update server in the list...should be a dropdown arrow to select a different one on the updates page.
(it's been a while, this is from memory)

Happened to me last week for the first time in years as well. I just waited a few hours and then tried again. (Didn't realise I could choose servers - thanks Martoch.) |

I had the same problem. I just kept repeating the download and after numerous tries it downloaded a good file.

I had the same "bad checksum" problem repeat itself on a new Win2k installation. Even after repeated attempts to download the updates and trying other servers. In the end I removed Adaware and Spybot and installed M$ Anti Spy program. I'll try it for a while. |

I tried for a couple days straight on the different sites and they all had bad checksums. Now they work fine again.
Just a weird blip I guess.
