i got this

how stupid can i be i got a mail saying prices ,
and i had been looking at prices in rsa (note on the list zenteksa.co.za my local pc shop)southafrica ,so of course i downloaded it and opened then i realised it was a virus/or something so i ran a scan came up clean.
next morning i started having [problems with norton*, autoprotect8, zone alarm and microsoft anti spyware . tried to run a norton scan no control panel so error sying reinstall norton , try that no luck system restore to befor email* run norton in safe mode and there you are, next delete virus, look in reg for refs nothing, now it runs fine , but can not open control panel from the little icon in the corner i get unspecified error : res//c:\ program files\nortonantivirus\cfgwzres.dll/cfgwiz roadmap.htm :261 ( error no 3009.400261) http://service1.symantec.com/support...build=STANDARD , and when i close i get this http://service1.symantec.com/support...build=STANDARD and yes i did try the fix , can start off the desktop and start menu only the little icon in the right hand corner not quick start (you know the service icons)

now how do i sort that out ( i hate norton and fsecure and my boss wont let me install some thing else ) fsecure is on the home pc of the boss , and norton is on the office pc

Thx in advance

Install Sub7 on his computer when he's out, first disable the useless norton as it might do it's job for once. Any other time the lazy SOB of a program wont, remote connect to your bosses computer and keep calling him an asshole, over and over and over. Problem fixed, he will go get a real AVS.

sub7 is a utilities to control other computer via internet, you need to create an executable file on sub7 then you need to execute the executable file on your victims PC.

you can google on where to get sub7 but be aware that when you install sub7 on your pc, you are atumaticaly infected with sub7

lol, I was joking

Sub7 is a type of virus, called a trojan. There's a server file and the client, the server file is the infectable part and the client is the GUI(if I recall right lol). This post was more of a joke and if you don't know anything about this I would say to take it as one and not to do this.
You can download it and use without becoming infected. But if you start to day dream and install the server on your own computer you will probably become the next victim. I used to run a sub7 off my remote computer so that I could access it when I was away. By using a good access password it's probably safe enough.

I tried to download sub7 and when it got to 1.21 mb out of 1.72 mb avast! started reporting a virus infection. It seems the infected file was editserver.exe from the sub7 .zip. I tried to download it from other sites, but i had the same problem. What should i do?

I'm sorry...i thought you were making a joke because of the rollseyes. my bad. Sub7 most likely isn't infected like you'd think of downloading an infected program or video or something. sub7 is a remote control tool used for hacking and that sort of stuff(that's why your av is detecting it and stopping the download). They were joking around about it saying he could use it to control his boss pc and freak him out. If you're looking for remote control software I'd recommend looking at something like vnc which is what I use on my home network. I can control any computer in my house from my room in the basement over the network via vnc That, and it's free and not sketchy!! http://www.realvnc.com/

/edit look at jokers last post...he describes it pretty well .
