| what grabbed my pc??
it changed my username on dialup(added extra numbers to it) It also changed the dial up number. I went thru network settings and rechanged it back and the pc asks if I want to make it permanent. I say yes. It don't matter. The other number appears again. My username is screws up with the additional info and yada yada. I ended up restoring to an earlier date(I have XP) - which is the shits as I have to redownload some programs.
I ran adaware and spybot. Both did find crap but it did not fix this dialer control. What should I have looked for and where? Somewhere in registry? |

Try a free online scan at http://housecall.trendmicro.com
It catches some trojan activity.
Note:
System restore may be a problem as well. Your restore file(s) might have been comprimised by what ever bug dialer you contracted.
If that doesn't fix the problem, someone here can tell you the best free-be trojan program available. Not up on the current ones myself.
Cheers! |

It looks like you obtained an autodialer. Very bad. If connected it will stay on a pay-per-min number as long as possible to incur charges against you. |

Moosoft's The Cleaner , comes with 30-day trail. D/l it ,update it and run. One of the best trojan removers out there.

Just a quick question. How do I find all my posted questions so that I can answer them and shut em down if the issue has been resolved. There is no way I can go back page after page and review all the entries to find mine. |
