in4bdlA.dll should I just delete this??

evidently I have had this file in my windows\system folder for almost 2 years (win98 SE)

in4bdlA.dll

usually I run trendmicro online scanner....over the weekend I ran trendmicro on a dudes comp..it showed one virus I think....then I ran symantec free scanner and it found 5 or so

so I ran trend on mine and it showed clean, as usual....then I ran symantec and it showed this "in4bdlA.dll" file as a part of a "better internet" spyware thing

I searched for other parts of the spyware such as "belt.ini" and "belt.inf" etc but didnt find any

so is it possible this is just something leftover that I cleaned out back in 2004?

I should obviously just delete this now yes??

thanks, JP

Hey

You probably took care of this already...but that .dll you mentioned is a known Trojan related to "FavoriteMan". It's a deleter for sure.

This Trojan has also been on my computer for over two years, but today AVG alerted me to it, saying it was a Trojan Horse Generic3.DTO. There were no earlier alerts by AVG - this happened today when I (finally) clicked on Windows Update. Co-incidence or ?

AVG found the file during a scan, and removed the threat. So, I guess it wasn't running...
