Why do you need a McAfee grant number?

i need to download some patches to fix my mcaffe,
after i installed the mcaffe, the mcaffe on access scanner icon in my taskbar disappear automatically,
i have never met this condition before,
would someone help me to figure it out | |

From where did you get Enterprise 8?
My university uses it also, but we must go thru a proxy server to d/l it. The grant number is then gotten from the Helpdesk to activate the software. | |

from a company staff ,his company is using mcafee too | |

In other words are you legally allowed to have this software? If you have legal rights to install the software and are having problems with keys you need to mcafee. (im assuming your friend gave you a copy to install on a pc that wasnt what it was paid for) | |

Do you mean you have to upgade? Like from 7.1 to 8.0i Or do you just need to update your DAT's?
