Whatever you do, don't install Norton! (inside joke)

Anyway, In My Opinion, Avast is better than McAfee in terms of system resources. I actually asked a McAfee related question a while back...feel free to browse that thread.
Is McAfee as bad as Norton? http://www.techimo.com/forum/t141232.html

McAfee seemed to be quite intrusive and a resource hog on the systems I've seen with it installed. I can't comment on the virus detection as I have little experience with McAfee in that arena.

Mc Afee and Norton are really intrusive and resource hog. For my part i'm using AVG free edition and never had problems. There is also Avast and AntiVir that are free and safe to use, it always depend on being confortable with a program. To complete my protection i also have Ad Aware, Spybot, Spyware Blaster, CCleaner and RegScrub XP.

Any time that i feel that i need to have something else scanning my computer i'm using either Trend Micro online or Panda. There is also Ewido that can help me from time to time, not for me but for computers that i'm working on...

I feel that sometimes there is a lot of work to do to keep my computer really clean and i would like to see a batch file that i can use to have all my protection software doing updates automatically.... getting lazy i guess
