| virus problem
if i do a virus scan with sophos anti-virus it comes up with two infected files in the system32 folder with the extension .dll. if i try to delete them through the "manage quarantine items" it tells me that i dont have the rights to perform this action even though i have an admin account and all the sophos options are set to allow me to delete these files. if i go into the system32 folder to try and delete them manually they do not appear, even with "show hidden files and folders" turned on. i tried to copy another file with the same name into the folder and it said the usual "are you sure you want to replace the file" stuff and i click ok and it tells me that there is another file with this name, which i obviously already know but it refuses to let me replace it.
any ideas? |

Ok, i tried to get into safe mode and my computer got stuck in this endless loop of starting up and then flashing up a blue screen for about half a second before restarting and i couldn't get it out of safemode so i tried repairing windows but it said that it couldn't because it was in safe mode so in the end i had to reinstall windows but thanks for the suggestion anyway. |

Glad to see you are all sorted.
That sounded like a nasty problem, when it denied you access to safemode. |
