Question
whats the best?

So whats the best firewall out there?

I'm currently using the latest Agnitum Outpost firewall. However, its a real pain in the a*s having to constantly allow/disallow software to access internet, memory, system settings etc... especially if you don't know what is needed!

btw: not a great fan of Zone Alarm either!

I know I'm being picky!

thx

If you have a Router with firewall you use this one but if not and even if you are not a fan of ZA, for me it was the easier to use and when all the setup is done it was working great.

I have now only XP firewall working on my computer, no more configuring a software that seems to have a life by itself

You will have more inputs from people here so wait and see

Cheers!

I've been behind a firewall enabled Router for years now but i still want that extra bit of security... especially for outgoing traffic.

Outpost is great but its a little too advanced for me!

Any other recommendations (other than ZA)? What about Symantec (aka Sygate)?

thx

I use Sygate and have no problems with it. It is no longer developed or supported, however.

Comodo is a good one that's free and does pretty much everything.
