forget password computer .... how ? - Tech Support Forums

Hi again,
i have a friend just buy a new computer , he set a os password in his computer, but after few day he forget the password and he cant enter window now. how to do now? any idea?

thks.

p/s : there are no important data inside harddisk.

Is it the password for his login? By booting in Safe Mode you can use the Administrator account and remove the password from his account.

yeah thats what i did to go to safe mode. to get to safe mode reboot your comp, and right after you start your comp keep on tapping F8. than you will have the option of choosing safe mode. after choosing safe mode click on the administrator than remove the pass from control panel. As GroundZero3 said, Start/Run "Control userpasswords2" from any admin account, click "reset password"
