| Best email program..........???????
Hi everyone. This is Melle and I'm a new member and this is my first post. I hope I'm putting this question re email in the proper area. If not, please feel free to move it where it's suppose to be.
I use to use Microsoft Outlook with Office XP and I like it very much. But lately, it's not been working properly and I can't seem to fix it and I'm not that crazy about outlook express and incredimail cause they don't give me what I want in options. Someone had told me about Eudora and others. Have you any comments? Which one do you use and why? I have a 2 gmail accounts and 2 of my isp accounts that I use with my email program or client. Please tell me in your opinion which you would use.
Thank you for your answers and comments. |

I use outlook also. What problems are you having, maybe we can just fix those issues so you can continue to use it? |

I've used some variant of Netscape ever since I went on the Web - before that I was using CompuServe (I haven't heard CS mentioned in a long time. Is it still out there somewhere?) or similar. Since AOL bought Netscape, I've gone to using the Mozilla variant which is now called Seamonkey. It works very well for me. It is an integrated solution with browser, eMail client, NewsGroups, web page editor, etc. all in one. I have five eMail accounts and I could attach them all into Seamonkey, but I've been lazy so I still use a couple of them as WebMail.
. Since you didn't mention any specifics, there is no way to really make a recommendation other than to suggest what I use. Something happened with Eudora lately (either there is no longer a commercial version or there isn't a free version) so I don't know what the longevity will be there. Pegasus is still out there and some from the Linux/Open Source world have just been ported to Windows. And of course there is Thunderbird which is very similar to what you get in Seamonkey.
. You need to tell us what you really need from your eMail client to get targeted suggestions.

or if you use Opera, you can use its built-in webmail program. With Opera running click on Tools in the top menu bar, choose Mail and Chat Accounts, select the type of mail account you have, then set it up like you did in Outlook Express |

I agree.. Let us know what's going on and we'll help fix it! If you like what you're using, you should continue to.
If all you want is a recommendation, I say go THUNDERBIRD. It's easy to set up and works very well! Also, if you're using Internet Explorer, do yourself a MAJOR favor and install and try Firefox.
Both Thunderbird and Firefox can be downloaded here: www.mozilla.com
If you search TechIMO you'll see that those two programs are most recommended!

I'm going with TM on this one. If you're having problems with Outlook, check out Thunderbird. We have Exchange server at work, so I use Outlook for business email, but I use Thunderbird for all my private accounts.

Thunderbird from Mozilla.
Although what problems are you experiencing with Outlook? It's not always easy to migrate from one email program to another.
