Question
virus help.

I know how I got this virus too.
I downloaded Windows Office from some sketchy site, and after I hit up the installer, weird things started happening to my computer. Whenever I type anything into a box on AIM, or sometimes if I do a search on iTunes, it closes out of the programs completely. Whenever I tried running Ad-aware, itd restart after it got to a certain point. Now my computer keeps coming up with popups in the bottom right screen about viruses, leading me to some advertisement for a virus scan that generically tells me i have a porn tracker, an info stealer, and some other ridiculous thing...and i know it expects me to click OK but I X out of it because you can click anywhere on the box.
Anyways, I have no idea what to do, and this is my family computer...so everyone is freaking out.

heres my Hijack This report:

Try running Spybot - Search & Destroy.

You can also start up in safe mode and run AdAware and then Spybot as them nasty little bugs wont be running and foul up the scan.

Edit -

Wow. I just copy/pasted your log file here: HijackThis Logfileauswertung, and you do have alot of nasties in there. HijackThis can also clear up some of those too if either Spybot or AdAware fail to do so.

Do yourself a favor and ditch Mcafee
Go to FileHippo.com and get AVG 8.0, Adaware, SpybotSD, and then go to threatfire.com and download the free version of that to run realtime scans
If you have a spare computer you can slave that drive to it once youve installed those programs, and boot it into safemode to use the scanners on that drive

the hijackthis scan found these to remove...

I checked all of the aforementioned areas on hijack this, and did a SUPERAntiSpyware scan/ Malewarebytes Maleware scan...problems are still very apparent and nothings gotten better. It's odd, little popup notifications on the bottom right corner come up like it's any other little note you get from time to time, telling you click so windows can update itself as far as virus protection. them a browser window comes up and it shows that its scanning your computer for viruses, when its not..., and says you need to get some phony spyware stuff because you have critical viruses. Its all part of the virus though, this never happened before and it happens frequently now...thought I'd mention it seeing as how its a symptom of the virus.

Be specific and tell us what "brand" of security program you are being told to download - or search Google for the fix for it.

From my experience, this type of fraudware is really hard to remove. The first thing to try is System Restore. The next is Spybot Search and Destroy. If no joy, rig for reinstall!

FYI - a good imaging backup program like Acronis True Image and an external hard drive would have you fixed in 30 minutes. Don't put it off. Get something like it if your PC is important to you.
