Hi, I need some help with this. My computer is infected with a virus called Java/SillyDl.EUA. I can't find anything about it, and my CA antivirus won't remove or quarintine it because is is effecting a .zip file. I don't know what it does, but since its been on there my computer's disc drive won't open and even though there's a disc in there the program it goes to won't recognise it. Does anyone know anything about this virus? Is there any manual way to remove it? |

Hi indial,
I had the same thing. My CA Antivirus was scanning, and listed it as they had quarantined it. BUt I just wanted to get rid of it, so I went in to the folder it was in and deleted it. That seems to have taken care of it.
Funny that CA identifies it as a problem, but doesn't have any info on their website about it.
There are some other "sillydl" entries there (see CA: Site Search) but I don't know how similar that is, or isn't to the one we were so lucky to get.
Hope this helps.
cheers ~

This is not actually a virus even though CA Virus scan says infected. And it should have nothing to do with your CD drive.
Go to the control panel, click on Java icon, click delete cache. Waaa laaa. Done. |
