| Generic Host Process/ Nt Authority system Virus, need help!
I just got this bug two days ago. I thought I had beaten it after running my virus scan (avast), but it came back a while later. When I boot my computer I get a message "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services", "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services encountered a problem and needed to close". After this window another comes up and says my computer needs to be shut down and it starts a 60 second countdown. Says authorized by NT Authority/system.
I have read a few different places on similar instances of this, but most of them refer to a problem that could be fixed with a windows hotfix, but I am running XP sp3 so none of the files from microsoft are compatible with my service pack. I have seen that this may be the blaster, or sasser viruses, but I have scanned for blaster and found nothing, and am currently scanning for sasser though I haven't found anything there yet either.
Any thoughts?
