Please help Virus hijacked my internet!

Please help i dont know where else to turn!

Just recently my internet started to slow down. Then every time I connected to the internet I would get these pop ups from Norton email scanner saying email unable to send and the email would include something ridiculus like "boy eats cat" or "oprah injured in car accident". These pop-ups would stack up ontop each other and fill up part of the screen. There would also be numerous letter icons in the taskbar. I'd then press Ctrl+Alt+Del and there was nothing to shut down except my browser. It took so long to open the task manager in the first place. Then I just unplugged the broadband cord and close there pop-ups individually until the screen was clear. As soon as I reconnected the internet the same thing would happen. Then when I tried to get the task manager an error message said that only the administrator could access the taskbar.
When I closed the browser my destop backgroung had changed to a yellow colour with a message in blue saying my computer had a virus and I needed to download spyware. When I restarted my computer it would boot up then say something about checking the disk, then Windows would startup then it would restart itself all over again.
This is what happens now and I'm unable to start my computer.

Please if anyone could help me with this problem I'd be eternally grateful.

Hi iriballa,

This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team responding.

It appears that your computer is infected with a possible trojan. The first thing to do is to manually run LiveUpdate to ensure you have the latest program and definition files applied to your installation of Norton. After LiveUpdate has finished, restart your computer in Windows Safe mode and then perform a "Full System scan" with Norton.

The other option is to download and run the Norton Security Scanner in Safe Mode.

1. Click on the following link to download the "Norton Security Scanner" and choose "Save File" and save the file to your desktop.

ftp://ftp.symantec.com/misc/tools/ns...curityScan.exe

2. Restart your computer into Windows Safe Mode.

3. Make sure your internet connection is working properly and then double-click on the "NortonSecurityScan.exe" file. Follow the prompts to check for updates and then run the Norton Security scanner to furher check for infections.

For information on keeping your email and computer secure from threats, please view the following documents on our website.

Thank you,
Mike
