| I think I've been hijacked
Hello all. I'm having a little problems with malware. It all started when a fake anti-virus program (containing viruses) was installed on my computer. The program was called Windows XP Anti-Virus, or something very generic like that and it gave me the Virtumonde and Gaslide.B trojans... I think.
Anyway, I thought I had all of that cleared up, but I recently found that I can't visit certain sites. In fact, I can't go to most tech support sites, and this is one of the few tech forums I CAN view. Also, when I click on Google links, they usually bring me to a fake advertisement site. Not all the time, but sometimes, I can copy and paste the link into my browser and it will work.
Avast, Malewarebytes and Spyware Doctor all find nothing upon scanning. My Hijackthis log is attached. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

I can't access that link, and if I copy/paste, it says there's a problem loading the page. Anyone else have any suggestions? |

the ativurs 2008 is the same as the IEAV.exe virus so the same info applies from a previous posting I gave instructions: turn off system restore when you delete the files, viruses will hide there and restoring to an older point is more than likely not going to help. Run all of your scans and remove any bad files in safe mode.
Run hijackthis, paste your log file here HijackThis Logfileauswertung remove anything it says is nasty. For IE AV and AV 2008 specifically try SmitFraudFix its know to fix that particular bug
Other than that as listed above there are manual removal instructions I don't recommend d/l'ing anything from here but you could try this Remove IE Antivirus 3.2 (Removal Instructions) » 411-Spyware.com[ |
PS, uploading a file from a computer with a virus isn't the best idea, not to many people are going to risk opening it and a possible infection.
Direct link to the avira site for copy and paste Code: http://www.free-av.com/en/tools/12/avira_antivir_rescue_system.html or http://www.free-av.com/

Dude, you have to get it using a non-hijacked PC. |
