| I think my hotmail has a virus
Over the last few days, odd things have been happening with my hotmail account. I have lots of messages in my sent folder to addresses I dont know and they are all spam electronics websites etc. I have run AVG, Adaware, Comodo AV, Search & Destroy, all have found nothing.
Could this be a virus within my actual hotmail account rather than my computer? I have changed the password but it is still happening.
Examples of emails being sent from my address below, I also have other language versions being sent, looks like greek and russian: Dear friends, Sheng Hui is our company, our web site: SHENZHEN Weichuang Digital E-business Co.,Ltd. Hi,
don't worry your computer is not infected. From time to time I also get an e-mails like these one. Just mark them as spam and they won't show up in your inbox again. There might be several reasons why you get such an e-mails. I think spammers generates lots of login names and you have a similar login with those generated. It's only matter of time when hotmail team will notice these e-mails and will block the spammers. |

ignys, I don't think you answered his question. I am also having his problem. MY computer is the one sending out the messages from those electronic places. They're sent to EVERY address in my Hotmail account and I am getting some nasty replies...and losing friends.
Scans show nothing, I have antivirus, adware/malware programs, and a firewall. However my Hotmail account sends out those messages about once every 2 months.
Any other ideas of what is wrong with my computer? |

Ok, so I know what you all mean as well. I am having the same problem. I have had the same e: addy for the longest time and I have added another one, but of course, everyone still uses the original, even with the continous vacation reply.
My problem is the same as a few of the others, my hotmail seems to be sending Spam to a TONNE of email addresses (from the looks of it, anyone who has a @hotmail, @live or @whatevertheotheronemsnowns,richsobs.com oh yeah, it's @msn.com. I have a new email account, I am willing to accept that I have no other choice, my question is, Can I transfer my contact list from one to the other, or will the virus be transferred as well? Please let me know ASAP, this is a pain in the ASS much help is, as always, F'INPRECI8D |

| This worked for me - re: caro amico
I went into my account settings and removed the "caro amico" message from my SIGNATURE and OUT OF OFFICE. That seems to do the trick, at least in gmail. Good luck |
