Web browser certificate error? Virus? Help!

Hi everyone, just a few days ago my computer started popping up a message when i try to log into any website that says. Certificate error, Continue? Or go back. My computer also says new programs installed, but the "new" programs are like 5 months old and that has never popped up! The names of the programs also appear orange to let you know which ones are new. If anyone knows anything about this or what might have caused this please let me know ASAP! Thank You

I had the same issue once. Turned out I set the clock wrong so you might check your clock to make sure the date/time are set correctly

Thumbs up
Thank you for your post

My RTC/CMOS battery in buried deep within my HP nc6000 laptop and, although I have a replacement (part of a $50+ plastic parts replacement kit from HP - rip, rip, rip) I haven't had time to replace it. So I have to reset the date/time each morning. This morning I missed setting the date (2008 instead of 2009). Everything came up certificate error. Your post reminded me of what my first reaction should have been - check the date/time.

Thank you.

John
