Clicked on Link with Virus; Please Advise

Hello, I hope you are well.

My friend was on AIM when her cousin sent her a link that she clicked on. It was only later on that she found out her cousin's instant messenger account was hacked and whoever hacked it has been sending the same link to everyone on his buddy list.

She had Eset's NOD32 v3.x anti-virus running, and the program said that the virus attack was blocked. I think her computer should be fine, but she's a bit worried about it, so I thought I'd reassure her by asking the experts here.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the complete link, so I've broken the URL up a bit. The address is link removed (remove the text that says "REMOVETHIS")

Thank you.

First off I removed whatever that link was, I'm assuming it was supposed to be whatever link she clicked, if so then please do not post links like that to any forum!

Second, just clicking a link isn't going to cause much issue, more than likely it led to some malicous code, an active x install prompt or prompt for a bad download. If NOD blocked it then she should be good to go. If she's really worried about it and NOD hasn't shown anything then I'd suggest trying an online scanner like trendmicro's housecall or panda's activescan

Thank you very much, RicheemxX. Sorry for posting the link. I inputted false text into it so if anyone were to just click on it or copy and paste the URL without altering it, nothing should happen. In any case, I apologize for posting it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll let her know what you said. Thanks again.
