Hey guys. Interesting story. Got an im from a friend saying someone with the screenname princesstera85 was looking for me. I was already suspicious because I hadn't talked to the first person in years, and had no idea who the new screename was. I ignored it. Over the next few days I got the same message 4 or 5 times. Figuring it was an aim virus I decided to follow up on it and see if I couldn't track someone or something related to it down. Well I im'd the new person and come to find out they're trying to get people to come see them strip on their webcam shows and lucky me....she's gonna give me a free trial! lol. So playing dumb I keep collecting info and head over to the site. deleted [!!possible adult content, not a trusted site, view at your own risk!!] Funny. The friends section that requires you to get your super special secret password....will actually accept ANY password. Get in, sign up with a fake name & junk email address. It "fails to verify my age" and immediately asks for credit card info over unsecure http. Bummer. Going on further, I try to view the tos and privacy policy....they don't exist and it just takes you back to the home page. When I mention this to princess whatever from above, she disappears. Final Verdict...SCAM!
Sorry for including so many details. I found very little to no info about this when searching so I was hoping this would be indexed and hopefully be a resource for those checking if it's a scam! Now for the questions. Who would I report this to?
I've reported it to the hosting provider w/ all the above info. Just not sure who to report to next!
