gnupg problems please help

Ok so i got fire pgp on my system and i had it working fine and now i get this error

Decryption failed. Unknown error.

I would like to know if anybody can give me step by step instructions to fix this so that i can decrypt this message. I have a key created that i gave to my friend and i have his but i cannot decrypt the message so what is going on here? My yahoo s/n is isotopes420 if anybody can explain on here how to get this fixed or send me an instant message i am online most of the time. I dont know if its where i have gnu installed or what but i did put it in the c: drive like it seems it is asking and the error changed a little bit but i still can decrypt the message. Any help would be appreciated.

Not only can i not get the keys to load to my firepgp which i can do that on my girlfriends comp finally but i cant decrypt or encrypt messages and i hope this helps.. if anybody knows of another free encryption engine that would work let me know.

I haven't heard of that application, let alone used it, but I would like to get you to check whether you can create a (new) encrypted file or not - does that fail...?

If you can, then I'm curious to know what happens if you tried to decrypt that file - does it work or not...?

If you can create an encrypted file, and decrypt/open it afterwards, then it seems that the issue could be when the encrypted file is sent elsewhere. To check whether that is the case, I would try to e-mail it to yourself (most people I know have at least two e-dresses, so if you can send it from one to the other...) and see if you can decrypt it afterwards.....


Anyway, let us know how you get on with that....

Well I am still trying to figure out this problem so i got with a guy from tech support and sent him pictures so maybe he can get me in the right directions. I am also downloading gpg4win to see how that works and maybe it will make a difference. what floors me is how it was working one day then the next i go to use it and it has these errors. I try to make a key but it has an unknown java error when trying to make a key. I dont know what could be causing the problems but its really aggravating that it was working then out the blue it wont and even when i try it on another terminal.
