avg free hijacked by virus
Help!!! My Dell xps 140 laptop has been completed hijacked by a virus. It seems to have taken over AVG free. The computer will only run a fake security scan and then direct you to a fake web site selling a fake virus program. I could access system restore only in safe mode but it won't restore the computer to a date prior to the virus infection. It won't let me uninstall or delete program.

Hi, needhelp:
Welcome to TechIMO.
Our forum does not do Hijackthis logs. If you would prefer fixing the infection, I suggest you search for a forum that handles HJT logs.
If you simply want to restore your Dell to the factory image, here are the instructions. Make sure you back up your data.
