    Um even with the SSID disabled applications can still see your "wireless network". As for mapping out wireless networks, this has been around since 802.11 hit the consumer market (the first upload was this site looks to be 03-Oct-2001) Wardriving has been around for ages, never heard of netstumbler? This site is being constantly updated by regular people scanning for wireless networks. You are getting worked up about nothing, encrypt your wireless network and you will be fine. Boooo mine isnt listed

    That's funny. A number of the SSIDs in my neighborhood are listed... but mine isn't.

    Apparently they haven't found my neighborhood. I don't see any SSIDs anywhere in my area. My tin foil hat must be working.
