Good Antivirus?
I wasn't sure where to post this, I hope this is the right area I apologize if it isn't.
I've usually always used Avast Free for my antivirus and I've really never had any issues with it, however I was wanting to switch things up a little.
I've been hearing some good things about windows security essentials, I do a lot of Graphic Design and Gaming on the side so I want something that isn't going to be very resource heavy.
Any suggestions?"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."

I use Avast on my laptop (Vista) & I've been happy with it for years. The HTPC (Vista) is using Avira AntiVir for quite some time and it is good too. My (Win7) gamer has Microsoft Security Essentials, and Ive found it to be very light weight and unobtrusive.

Thanks for the quick reply, I think I'll give M$ Security Essentials a try then.

I have been using Microsoft Security Essential and believe me it runs quietly and efficiently in the background so i am free to use my Windows-based PC the way I want—without interruptions or long computer wait times

I use the free McFee Internet Security package provided by AT&T internet... It hasnt caused me any problems but I think it slows down my computer. I think the best one is Norton 360.

I use Avira with no problems once so ever. I even let it still run while gaming.

It's a horrible piece of software that I KNOW is slowing down your computer.

4GB is about the minimum you want for good performance. I kicked up to 8 and I noticed the difference. Especially in games.
