Dell Tech Support won't support spyware removal

This article ("Slashdotted", as it says) lays out the "most misguided tech support policy I have ever seen."

Just another solid reason for the informed consumer to always buy Dell... NOT!

This article has been slashdotted. I'd like to clarify that the posting at slashdot is misleading, suggesting that Dell itself is installing spyware. That is not the case at all and please don't be confused into believing that. Dell is absolutely NOT bundling spyware on their PCs.

GZ3,
Just to clarify, my comment was in reference to Dell "tech support" refusing to assist Dell customers in removal of spyware/adware, NOT whether or not Dell includes such software.

I bought my last Dell in Fall '97. Dell Tech Support was good back then, but I personally saw noticeable degredation in customer support before my Dell hardware warranties had run out. Dell support today is no better than any other PC vendor, and may be worse than some.
Regards,
jmichna
