Magnetic Data Technology brand drives?

Does anyone know what the deal is with Magnetic Data Technology brand harddrives. Are these drives refurbs, re-badged or do they actually manufacture their own drives? I went to their website and it is lacking to say the least. Curious minds want to know.

Their drives are listed on pricewatch and are always the lowest priced.

I never heard of them until now.

Guess you could go through the Help Desk and ask them.

Exclamation
Some MDT drives are "recertified" ex-WD drives

The 160GB and 250GB SATA hard-drives I bought from MDT are labelled "MDT re-certified" drives. In fact, they are Western Digital WD1600JS and WD2500JS, re-flashed with a new code and showing a new manufacturing date sticker; one of the 250GB failed during format and reverted to "WD" code. I believe that MDT re-manufacture drives e.g. WD drives; calling these "re-certified" drives "white-box drives" is somehow mis-leading. Hope this helps
