    Question What Sound is a hard drive meant to make?

     
    Hiya,

    Got a new WD 30.7GB today and its making this silent creaking niose when its working(say like opening outlook) and i just wanted to know if this is normal or is it the hard drive??

    HDs all seem to make different sounds and especially the older one which can be really noisey. Perhaps you may want to check with where you bought the HD as I'm sure they will have others that are the same, unless of course you got it 2nd hand.
