    winXP??

you have to get the sata driver on the floppy...when you first start the windows XP install it will flash on the bottom of the screen "press f6 for third party drivers" (or similar)...so press that and then after a while it'll ask for the floppy

the sata driver comes with the motherboard or the sata controller....

    what motherboard is it?

    (details, details)

The driver would be for the motherboard, NOT the hard drive.

Knowing the motherboard model would be a big help!!!!!!!!!!!

    EDIT - That's a P4S800D

well that link is a zip file..so u unzip it...then you put the files on a floppy..it doesn thave ot be a bootable floppy cuz your not going to boot from it

when you unzip it there will probably be some "loose" files sitting there...like .inf .vxd .sys files etc....put them on the floppy...but there might be a pdf manual and a folder named "gui"...you dont need those for the initial install and they wont fit on the floppy anyway

    then get em all......

I was looking at an unzipped raid driver and guessing what yours had in it

the one I was looking at had a pdf manual and also a folder named "gui"

but if you dont have that just put everything that unzips on the floppy

one way to think abou tit is..if you right click all those files and do "properties" and they will all fit on the floppy then put em all on..the install will choose which files it wants etc....i was just thinking maybe there was a manual and other stuff that wont fit on the floppy
