Dynamic to basic HDD

I'm trying to change a dynamic HD to basic with Win XP but it doesn't work.

It's a Samsung 80 gig brand new and with Disk Management in XP i'm able to see that it is dynamic with an X on it so when i right click on it and try to change it to basic it does nothing except showing the hour glass for a few seconds.

I tried in command prompt with the diskpart command but it doesn't see it at all so i can not do anything with it.

I tried with PM 8.0, it is showing a big yellow HD but none of the options are working on it.

I really need help with this one please.

Ok forget that but thanks anyway.

I was having partitions activated on the drive and that's the reason why i wasn't able to convert dynamic to basic....it's working now.
