dont bother with zip or rar for a movie file. you'll need video compression, i suggest you turn your video into a DIVX or XVID file.
you can download VDUB for free from www.virtualdub.org
this is a very good video & audio compression.
i'd make the audio into mp3 and the video into xvid or divx.
good luckSignature images disabled.

wow 3.6 gigs!!! Let us know what compression tool you finally use and what the final compressed file size is. I'll be interested to see how well it is shrunk down!

Winrar is great becuase it is more usefull. If you wish to make it in to parts as well as compressing it, use .rar (best, compression)
if you dont you also can use .zip (best, compression) they both compress the same
right click the file and choose "add to archive"

vdub will also allow you to cut the files into anything you want. will also allow you to extract the audio & do what you want with that too.Signature images disabled.

If you would just use video compression, like using Virtual Dub to make it a DivX format file then you'd see that your same video could easily be megabytes and not gigabytes.
Stop wasting your time with RAR or ZIP. A video that is properly compressed using DivX will gain nothing with RAR or ZIP, and can sometimes even turn out to make a larger file.
