HD dead or somthing else?

I'm trying to test an 20gig seagate IDE hd, see if its working in order to sell it, but there seems to be probems. I pulled this from a working pc about 2 months ago, and now all of a sudden its not working, so it may be somthing else.

I poped it in and hooked it up, and I could access the bios and everything, and then I would get the screen when your pc is shut off manualy and it asks you how to boot it (safe mode, previous working settings, boot windows normaly, that stuff), and no matter what I choose, I'll enter in that selection, and my computer will automaticaly reboot for no reason, right after hitting the selection.

Any ideas?

On a related note, I think I lost the jumpers for the back of the drive, any idea where I can get replacements? (this is a seagate drive)

jumpers are universal and im sure you will need one to set it to slave... most drives that have no jumper at all automatically set themsels to single drive master...
you should be able to borrow a jumper from some other component

any jumper will do. and i'm having the same problem on an me machine...someone here actually told me how to fix it, but i haven't gotten a chance to check it yet. check it out at http://www.techimo.com/forum/t123698.html
