Help

Hey all,

Pulled my RAID array apart and want to use one of the Raptors (36GB) as my boot drive. Currently have an 80 and a 200 GB IDE as storage and am using them now because I cant get the damn Raptor to want to be the boot drive. Using an Abit IC7G Mobo. Been through the Bios too much to talk about and cant for the life of me figure it out. It gets to a certain point and just blanks out on me if I select it to boot XP from the Raptor instead of the IDE.

I know there must be some lil setting in there that I missed and cant find or just the right combination maybe.
Thanks,
Stewrt

Was that a RAID-0 or RAID-1 array? If you broke a RAID-0 array, you have lost all data, and will need to partition/format/reinstall OS on that drive.

To confirm, is that single Raptor drive recognized in BIOS?

If you pull all drives out of the PC except that single Raptor, and set whatever controller that Raptor is on as second boot device (after the CD-ROM drive first boot device), then you should be able to install OS.

It was a RAID 0 It had been formated.
I can get the OS to reinstall up to the point where it wants to Restart to finalize installation and I get the black screen after the bios screen, and she freezes up. I'll check the channel which it is on again. Let you know after I get home from work tonight and have some time to try it out.
Thanks,
Stewrt
