raid setting up help!!

I've installed a IDE raid card (skymaster ATA133 RAID controller Silicon Image chipset) with 4x 40GB PATA attached, and
a 120GB on primary master IDE with NO OS only data,
a DVD drive on primary slave,
a DVD writer on secondary master,
now, when I first boot, I set the raid bios as raid 0+1, the raid bios accepts, then after reset the system is not booting neither for win xp CD from the optical drives nor the raid HDD.

so do I have to reassign IRQs from the bios?
or need to flash the original motherboard bios? (I am using ASUS P4XP-X mobo)
or is any of setup is wrong?

can anyone pls help with the correct procedure for installing IDE raid 0+1? cos the manual from raid card doesnt tell me anything!

just to add one more thing...
the system is not displaying anything after the raid bios, but the raid bios is displaying I have raid 0+1 setup
