Hard drive showing in device manager but not in Explorer

I used it as an external hard drive. It was working just fine and I've never dropped it or caused physical damage. If I create a new partition of the hard drive will it delete everything?

I used it as an external hard drive. I've never dropped it or caused physical damage. It doesn't make any weird noises. I tried using Recover My Files and all the files can be Recovered even though they are corrupted. But it would take forever.

Would making a new partion of the hard drive delete everything?
