NTFS Query???

Question
NTFS Query???

my old p3 850mhz com used to hv an NTFS file system w win xp installed. One of my friend told me tht it lags a com of speed less than 2.4ghz. is it true???

Your friend told you that your old computer couldn't have an NTFS partition on a computer that was < 2.4GHz because it would lag?

Heh, that's not correct to the best of my knowledge, at all... Considering NTFS was in development several years ago, 2.4GHz processors were not even available for the consumer.

The NTFS "file system" will slow down your system because it was built with extra security. Technically It will slow it down but under normal circumstances not enough to matter.

BTW you posted in the community forum, which means you might not get as many people helping you as if you had put it into the correct forum.

We have a (very) few crusty servers still around that run on it at 200mhz... I'm sure your machine will be fine.
