| External Hard drive or ZIP drive?
I would like to have a way of backing up some of my larger files without having to resort to burning it on to CDs and losing some place. Something that is easy to use and has some decent space to work with. I'm not too picky but open for any suggestions. Pros and cons for both would be a plus. |

I'd go with the external HDD as Zips have a rep for dying.
I've gone through 3. Bill

I think I will go with an external hard drive. You have to purchase disks for ZIP drives anyway, right? |

yes, with most zips you get 100-250mbs on a single disk so its better to have an external drive. plus, not everyone has zip drives these days anymore as much.

Not much space in them, huh? I remember having one back in the day when it seemed like a lot to have. These days you need a lot more. Thanks for the insight. |

Yeah, make sure you have USB 2.0 working though, because it's sooo much faster than ... not USB 2.0 USB.

Thanks, I will be sure to do that if I get an external hard drive. Would be nice to have one to back up my stuff so I probably will go price shopping later in the week or even today. |

I've never tried a Zip drive, because I've heard very bad things about them. I guess I would try an external hard drive. I think I might pick one up pretty soon too so I don't have to have my music/picutres etc on my computer... Then my HDD can just be for Windows and Games. |

don't. zip drives are useless and annoyingly loud. |
