Uncanny Rebooting!!

Hey guys, this is the story,

over the past couple of months when I really use my Maxtor 80gig drive (c hard the computer will restart itslef and come up with the error NTDLR bootloader missing, now this is the strange part, if i leave for 20-30 mins and come back to it it is fine and loads up, this happened to me last nigtht but now it doesn't get through my complete startup, and restarts itself, i am going to buy a HDD this afternoon,

any ideas on:
a) not getting the problem
b) getting my important files off the harddrive without it crashing, b/c i kane it like move files it will restart.

there is a program called sestern digital life guard, that could work to copy firles over from your old HDD to your new one

yeah i think i will have to try that, would it be on the UBCD??
