card reader autoplay help

I installed a 16 in 1 Sabrent card reader on my computer. I have windows xp sp2 and when i installed this card reader, the autoplay keeps popping up like every 3 seconds. It said windows xp should already have the drivers but something definitely is messed up. I tried to also install the drivers that came with it but no help. I reinstalled it and same thing. I had a card reader in before and it worked flawlessly. The usb works fine on it but the autoplay is very frustrating. Also, when i boot up, it takes at least 15 seconds longer, i am not sure why? It has locked up my computer a couple of times. When i take out the card reader all my problems go away. I checked sabrent's website and nothing on it. Does anyone have any ideas?

take it back and get it replaced with a working one. it sounds like you have a faulty unit.
