Check the utilities that came with your MB and HDD. Sometimes little gems like these are included.

Yes what brands are the HD's?
Maxtor has a drive copy utility for free download (MaxBlast4) from their website that I'ved used several times perfectly...
you don't necessarily have to have a Maxtor drive to use it either, just ignore the warning.

What operating system do you have? Win98 is pretty simple. You can use a DOS copy command.
XP and Win2K are special because of the paging file / security mumbo jumbo. |

>>Oh & no software of any kind with my mb or hard discs
just go to the drive manufacturer website and download the copy utility.
>>Um, haven't used ghost yet, but I would not suggest Acronis true image...
as for this remark by [dnb], don't blame your problems on Acronis...the software was not the problem.
i've used both ghost and Acronis and Acronis is a much better product, imo. |

yes, you dont have to re-activate anything if you do a true copy over of the hard-drive...
just use the link to MaxBlast 4 windows and use the utility to do a drive to drive copy... |
