I've personally never experienced the "cyclic redundancy error" in Shrink that could not be overcome in DVD Decrypter. Not yet, at least.

I've had the "cyclic redundancy error", which I've managed to overcome by ripping to my HD with DVDDecrypter, then using DVDShrink to compess...

D'oh just reread the last post...ignore me :-P

There are several reasons for a CRC error.

One reason a bad burn (while reading, in which case this is not since this is the original)
Another reason is there is a problem with your original disk causing the CRC error. It happens, there's no 100% disk there that's perfect w/o errors.
One more reason could be your reader and tries to do the job, but isn't all that great.

Sicne no one asked, what is your reader? The best DVD RW to read are the Benqs and the Plextors. The Benqs are probably your best bet. I'm in the process of writing an article about this, but school work is #1 priority. DVD Shrink will give you problems even if you get that drive. How do you stop it? Read it 8x at max in DVD Decrypter, then mount it into a virtual drive. Have DVD Shrink that image, and traditionally that has been successful for me.

I've encountered many disks in my collection to have the CRC error. Lite On's don't really do it, (though they're very good at CD protections).

Sorry was in a rush, I thought you got the error when trying to decrypt, what I listed above helps with some DVDs with Decryptres have issuses accessing the disks.

Bad source disc, I'm thinking. Do you have another drive you can try? Is this a new DVD?
