Back up media
Okey Dokey,
Well, im sorry if someone's asked this question before but i couldn't find it. My dad runs a small business and currently has three comps running on a network. On his computer, there is projects data, CAD drawings etc, all stuff like that; it's quite a lot of stuff. Then on another computer, there is all administration stuff and contact databases etc.
We're looking for an effective back-up routine that can be, to some extent automated. I know you can schedule automatic back-ups with external hard drives. But i would have to buy two to back up the admin stuff as well.
Would anyone suggest tape drives? Or should i just use optical media like DVDs.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks ppl.

Would it be possible to backup certain folders (or partitions if it were easier) on pcs 1 and 2. Would I set the hard drive up as being a shared drive? thanks

Yes, that looks good. Connects right to your router. Always easier to have a network asset that does not require someone's PC to be turned on.
