Un dual booting

I loaded XP onto a new unformatted HDD, which was set as primary slave, the master being Win98. It worked fine dual booting between the two. Now I want to make this XP drive the master (C) drive but it complains that NTLDR is missing.
Is there anyhting I can do to save having to do a reload of everything, or will I have to "bite the bullet"?

In NT4 you can run the emergency repair floppy & uncheck every repair item except "boot sector" (something like that). Like a NT version of W9X's Sys.com c:

Also, check the Boot.ini file -- these lines might need changing:

default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="NT Workstation 4.00" /sos /noserialmice

Make sure the disks & partitions are right.

Hi
The plan is by doing a manual repair for the boot sector by booting from the winXP CD ...

Check this out .. detailed explanation with screen shots ...

Also this article might help ..
