HD not reading right
Ok This is a New HD its a Maxtor Diamond 10 300GB 16mb SATA-150 HD OEM
Problem is that when I was getting ready to install WinXp it shows up Half of the amount it suppose to be? 127 gig? I downloaded Killdisk and put it onto a cd just incase....I just slapped everything together Meaning I didnt look at the drive when I opened assuming it has to be 300GB I tied everything down neatly so *sigh* I really didnt want to go and remove the HD and the HD cooler Plus I never used killdisk if anyone can tell me how to use it if it is needed to do so unless there is a simple fix...
System
Mobo: Gigabyte K8N-E skt 754
CPU : 64 3400+
Ram: 2 gig pc3200 Adata
Video: XFX Geforce 6600GT PCI-e
Everything is working great except this HD issue which it isnt reading right...

You need to enable Large LBA in BIOS and install SP1 on XP or SP3+ on 2K.

This can show up as a 137gb limit or 128gb limit. Depends on the system.“Those who desire to give up freedom in order to gain security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one.”

SATA 'shouldn't' be subject to LBA limitations.... shouldn't be is the keyword... I have a 250GB Seagate SATA HDD on 2K and I had issues with it not posting the full 250GB to Windows...
