hard drive size
I have120gig in c and 300gig in d. 120g reads the right size, the 300g reads ok in the bios and in d prtoperties. but when I go to my computer or disk management it only reads 127g. why is this? C is OS and D is data drives.
MOBO gigabyte AMD 64, 3400, 2 gig ram, bfg5200,dial up.
Thanks for any help.

I dont understand your post. DO you have 2 hard drives or 1 partitioned hard drive?
Seems to me that you have a 300gb hard drive split into 120gb and 170gb.
1KB is 1024 bytes. 1 byte = 8 bits
Actual size of your 300gb hard drive is 279gb
But you seem to be missing more than you should be.

Thanks guys. Starting up new system and was missing too much on my 300gig h/d [data drive] and 120gig h/d is my os drive.
At the time of my post I did not have sp2 installed which only let me use 127gig of my 300gig h/d.
Since installing sp2 and formating I now have use of 279gig of h/d.
Many many thanks guys.
