Can SATA 1 and SATA 11 drives co-exist

I am buying a new system. The motherboard has a SATA 11 controller that supports 4 hard drives. The system will come with a 250 gig SATA 11 drive fitted as the bootable drive.

What I want to know is whether I can fit a 320 gig SATA 1 drive that I have already. The SATA 1 drive will be a slave.

    Will these 2 drives co-exist?

    Motherboard is a Gigabyte S775 GA-965P-DS3.

    Thanks

Why would you think it wouldn't? What am I missing here?
One thing I had to do with setting up my sata drive on motherboard was when installing XP I had to streamline a copy of XP with service pack 2 embedded before Xp would instal on the drive.

It will work fine. I have 2 SATA 1 and 2 SATA II drives in my system and they work great.

YOu will be able to run a SATA II drive on a SATA 1 controller as well.
