Inserting memory card causes USB card reader to get removed - Tech Support Forums

All of a sudden inserting a SD memory card into a four slot internal USB card reader causes the device to get removed from the system. I get the remove USB devices dialog box. I can re-boot and it's back. I don't think it is a static 'zap' issue either.
I have no issue with a CF card.

I'm running 2k if it matters.

You say its a "internal card reader" The computer manufacture built one in or is it one of those 5.5 " drive bays?

Maybe you should see about reinstalling the driver for the reader its self.

How's the memory card? Have you tried it in another reader or computer for that matter?

Also, there may be a failure in the SD reader slot. ("Failure to comunicate"-Cool hand Luke.)
