hey everyone,
i tried plugging in my usb stick this afternoon, and i get the error message "please insert a disk in drive G" when i double click to access it. i tried on a couple of my computers and i got the same error message.
when i check the "safely remove hardware" tray icon i can see the usb mass storage device, and i can even safely remove it, but i cannot access it. i decided that i'd have to format it, as that would be the only final solution. so, without knowing what i had on my usb stick, i right clicked on the removable drive and selected "quick format". when i hit ok to format, i got ANOTHER error message, this time it was "windows was unable to complete the format". again, tried this on other computers, same deal. my stick is a sandisk cruzer micro 256 mb if this helps. any ideas would be great, this is a fairly new device! |

So, has it solved your problem?!
I'm quite desperate here, because I can't copy any files to my Sony Memory Stick pro DUO of 2gb...
The only way I've managed to format it so far was by a friend of mine's Sony Cybershot camera, but when I re-format it on the PC and start to copy some mp3 to it, it gives me the same error: "Can't read from source" or anything like that, then it's like there's no memory stick inserted, but I still can see it on Disk Management, hence I can't format it!
Heeeelp, please! |

Flash drives don't last very long - 10-20 thousand read/writes. After that, it just dies.
