I have had a chronic problem with my Sata I cable coming loose from my hard drive. Finally glued it in place. It's working fine now.
I vaguely remember reading somewhere that you could plug a Sata II cable into the Sata I sockets. That they would hold a lot better and less likely to become loose. If you can plug a Sata II into Sata I sockets, will you get the benefits of the increased speed ? Thanks in advance for your replies. Bob
No you won't see a performance difference with SATA2 cables. The only difference between the two cables is that the SATA2 cable has a locking mechanism on it to secure the cable to the connector.
