Keeping HDD while upgrading other parts question.

Hi, I'm new to Techimo and it looks to be a good site to get some information. I'm currently upgrading my system, except my DVD drive/burner and HDD. Will I need to do any specific stuff in order to make the HDD work with the new components? It already has the OS installed, so I "shouldn't" have to install it again, right? To be safe should I just reformat and install WinXP after installing everything? Thanks

Along with Steve, I would also just do a fresh install.

Hello,
If you don't want to go thought the hassle of installing Windows/Programs, and all updates, just do a Repair Install; I've done it before, and it works. If then you're unhappy with the way Windows is operating, do a complete install. I hope that this helped. Take Care.

More specific on WHAT you're upgrading please.

If it's just a video card and some RAM, a reinstall isn't necessary.
