Hard Drive suddenly get uninstalled

I have this friend that is calling me from time to time and for some reasons his Hard Drive gets uninstalled from the BIOS.

Everything is working fine for some times and then suddenly he's booting up the computer and the HD is not there anymore.

I go the the BIOS, reinstall the HD and it works for some times before doing it again. It could be a week or a month before it happens again.

What could be the reasons for this behavior? I tested the HD with the manufacturer tool and it was fine.

Change the data cable. See if that helps.

Replace the CMOS battery...

Thanks Steve, i will try that and see if the problem is fix. Usually i replace the battery when the time showing in the task bar is not stable but it could be battery so i'll get a new one.
