Western digital external hdd 320 gb

Hi There: I've just bought an external 320 gb w/d hdd ATA with out a manual or an installatioon Cd basically through ebay. When I powred up the unit it powered up with no problem and I can see the on light comes on. the problem is the system is not seeing it when it's plugged in though the usb cable. Thanx!!

Have you restarted your system since you plugged in the USB cord. IDK if it will help, but it's worth a shot..
